Shared Lyrics

I created a platform to share and exchange extracts of lyrics. The project was born as an Instagram account that later extended to an exhibition of t-shirts and posters from the excerpts of lyrics people had sent as a private message. It was exhibited in the 5th edition of Art Lima, and people could buy the stuff. Lyrics are usually evoked through the memory of their melodies, presenting themselves repetitively in our minds, creating a deeper level of empathy with whom has them playing in their heads. I found this small level of intimacy to be an interesting way to connect to a thought, as opposed to a complex curatorial text. Sometimes a direct verse has the power to create more empathy with the reader.

Babablacksheep Haveyouanywool?

The systematic reproduction of low-quality digitalized lullabies on Youtube, with high-pitched sounds, synesthetic images, and the constant AD interruptions serve as a mother’s support system to calm down the child, creating more anxiety than perhaps the infant itself. One must face Anxiety A “the child” with Anxiety B “glitchy you tube”. An exchange of anxieties to face anxiety.

In an attempt to separate myself from these two entities that generate anxiety, I seek to analogize "b" while not listening to “a” through ink drawing, slowness and silence.

(A drawing as silence)
